Inmate Killed During Attempted Prison Break An inmate serving life in prison for killing five people was fatally shot Thursday while trying to escape with two other convicted murders from a northern Michigan prison, authorities said. WESTLAND, Mich. — Westland’s City Council unanimously approved a proposal Monday to adopt an ordinance that would ban medical marijuana businesses. The ordinance would ban dispensaries from operating within the city.
